The paper presents the results of the twenty years of activity of the Museum of Archaeology of the Republic of Tatarstan as a structural unit of the Institute of Archaeology named after A. Kh. Khalikov of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan. The issues of desk processing, restoration, museum storage of archaeological items, as well as the collection and systematization of accounting documents, field diaries and archives of researchers were considered in the context of MART’s work. The authors emphasize the key role of the archaeological heritage and the scientific fund of the museum in research activities and the importance of digital transformation of archaeological materials in the process of their integration into the State Catalog of the Museum Fund of the Russian Federation and the online GIS Cultural Heritage of Tatarstan and the Tatar people. The paper provides statistical data on the main work areas, and highlights the participation of MART in the creation of new museum spaces and in international projects. The museum is presented as an important research and methodological center of academic archaeology of Tatarstan, combining traditional methods with modern digital technologies.
