Abstract

The burial ground and Taktalachuk village located at the site have been known since 1956. A convenient ledge of a high terrace was used by people since the late Bronze Age until the Late Middle Ages. Settlements and sites of Srubna and Pyany Bor cultures have been identifi ed on the compact territory. It also features necropolises of Srubna, Lugovskaya and Cherkaskulskaya cultures of the Bronze Age, Kushnarenkovo culture of the Early Middle Ages, and Chiyalikskaya culture of the Late Middle Ages. Despite the discovered characteristic ceramic items at the site, the researchers have not distinguished a cultural and chronological horizon associated with the Ananyino cultural historical area. Presently, fi ndings of the Ananyino period have been discovered in the territory. These are ceramics, bronze arrowheads, a pendant with a sculptural image of the head of a bird of prey, and household items. By analogy, these fi ndings belong to the Late Ananyino chronological horizon and can be attributed to the time period between the late 5th and the 3rd/2nd centuries BC.
