Abstract

The temples and palaces of Bactria and Margiana in the Bronze Age are of special interest in historical science. In the last third of the XX – early XXI centuries, in the archaeology of the Bronze Age in the southern regions of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and northern Afghanistan, a number of global discoveries of archaeological heritage sites were made, between which researchers note a certain connection. In this regard,
V.I. Sarianidi proposed to unite them under the name of the Bactria-Margiana Archaeological Complex (BMAC), A.P. Frankfor – under the general name of the Oxus civilization, and V. M. Masson – Proto-Bactria. Nevertheless, in this area (if we can call it that) there are several monuments dating to the Bronze Age in Central Asia and built in the agricultural oases of Namazga, Dashly, Sapalli. The Sarazm sites, located in the southwest of Tadjikistan, are of interest. It is considered to be the place of residence of an ancient peasant community and is located on the border with the BMAC. This article attempts to analyze the similarities and differences in techniques, methods and building technologies for the construction of monumental structures, their defensive walls, the place of temple architecture in the infrastructure of early urban culture and its local settlements, and also determines the influence of innovative processes on the development of building techniques at such archaeological sites as Sarazm, Gonur, Togolok-21, Dashly-3 and Djarkutan.
