Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of Tatar epigraphic monuments preserved in the Kamyshla district of the Samara region. As a historical source, they play an important role in the study of the history, culture and language of the Tatar people, since they contain information that cannot be received from other historical sources. Arabographic monuments of the Kamyshla district were not studied by the specialists. During the epigraphic expedition in this area, the author identified 107 monuments dating from the period from 1879 to 1939. The article presents the results of this work, describes and analyzes the most ancient epigraphic monuments of scientific interest. The novelty of the study lies in the fact that some examples of this epigraphic heritage are introduced into scientific discourse for the first time and the results of the work on deciphering the Arabic and Tatar texts present on the stones are given.
