Abstract

The article presents the results of the study of ferrous metal objects based on excavation materials from the Tankeevka burial ground located on the left bedrock elevated terrace of the Staraya Rytvina River and the full-flowing right tributary of the Utka River, a left tributary of the Volga, in the southern part of the village of Tankeyevka in the Spassky district of the Republic of Tatarstan. The study processed collections kept in the Museum of Archaeology of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Institute of Archaeology named after A.Kh. Khalikov TAS. As a result, the composition and quantity of ferrous metal objects were identified. Within this study, the categories of ferrous metal objects were identified, which include: weapons, horse equipment, household items, costume elements, agricultural tools. A typology is presented, with an emphasis on the chronological positions of types according to their analogies identified at other sites. A total of 736 objects were analyzed.
