The article deals with faience beads from the Pyany Bor culture sites. The authors present a catalog including 572 Egyptian faience beads found in 11 of the 24 necropolises and 90 burials. The publication is the introductory part of a series dedicated to faience beads, with the work divided into several parts due to the large amount of material and the variety of questions. The beads were identified according to E.M. Alekseeva’s typology. Most of the figural beads belong to the second half of the I century BC – II century AD, with a predominance in the I century AD. Small geometric beads are found in the assemblages of the late II – first half of the III century AD. Taking into account the period of the Pyany Bor culture distribution and other finds from the burials, the assemblages are believed to date to the I-II centuries AD. A more detailed examination of individual types of faience beads will clarify the dating of burials and the role of faince beads in the chronology of the Pyany Bor culture.
