Sixty-three Paleolithic sites are located on the territory of Eastern Transbaikalia, most of which are represented by surface finds, while the main sites of the region are located in the southwest of the Titovskaya Sopka mountain range, which is part of the Chersky Ridge system (a suburb of Chita), and are united within the Sukhotino Paleolithic region. The conducted studies made it possible to characterize the geological and geomorphological context of the Paleolithic monuments of the Sukhotino district and to identify patterns of sedimentogenesis of Quaternary deposits and spatial localization. The most common genetic type of sediments at the Sukhotino district, with which Paleolithic complexes are associated, are Aeolian sediments. The complexes Sukhotino–2 (layers 1-3), Sukhotino-4 (layers 1–3), Sukhotino-5, Sukhotino-7 (layers 1-3) and Sukhotino-6 are associated with them. The formation of Aeolian sediments, with which most campsites in the area are associated, dates back to the time of MIS 2, as evidenced by radiocarbon and OSL dating. The Paleolithic complexes of Sukhotino-4 (layers 4–18) and Sukhotino-2 (layers 2–5) campsites are associated with sediments of the alluvium floodplain facies, which formed under seasonal flood conditions. The time of the existence of the complexes in layers 11–18 of the Sukhotino-4 campsite, by analogy with the studied terraces of the region, can be dated to the beginning of MIS 2. Layers 4–10, based on the totality of the published radiocarbon definitions and new radiocarbon dates obtained by us from the bone remains of reindeer, functioned in the period from 20 to 12 thousand cal. BP. The leading factors in the spatial localization of the sites are outcrops of stone raw material, near which the workshops Sukhotino-6, -12, -13 are located, and the shoreline of the Ingoda River, whose terraces contain the paleolithic campsites and settlements of Sukhotino-2–4.
