Abstract

The data on the lithic assemblage from the Yovdino V site (Vym river valley, Komi Republic) are published. The composition of the collection and its context, along with data on similar complexes in the centre of the Eastern European Plain, support interpreting the site as a cache. The absence of pottery and material suitable for instrumental dating created challenges for cultural attribution and dating. To address this, the morphography, morphometry, and morphology of the stone artifacts were analyzed. Two most probable variants were identified. In the regional context (Vychegda river basin) - the version that Yovdino V is a cache of people of the Lyalovo culture, 1st half of the 5th millennium BC, has priority. On a macro-regional scale (Eastern European Plain) - the studied complex is a site of the Volosovo culture of the 2nd half of the IV – III millennium BC.
