Abstract

The publication presents the results of a morphological and functional analysis of one of the types of stone decorations of the Murzikha II burial ground - slate pendants. Having studied the shape, the number of through holes, the type of drilling, as well as the location of the holes on the pendant, we were able to identify 5 morphological groups and draw up a typology of this type of jewelry. In the course of functional analysis using the traceological method, we were able to identify several types of traces on pendants that characterize the entire life cycle of jewelry - from manufacture to burial. The question of the functional signifi cance of the two scalloped hangers is also raised.
