From Archaeological Reconnaissances to Interdisciplinary Scientific Studies of the Sites on the Island-Town of Sviyazhsk in the 1990s-2000s.

The author analyzes fundamental changes in the system of state protection of cultural heritage that took place in the Republic of Tatarstan in the 1990-2000s, that brought qualitative changes in the process of preservation of historical and cultural heritage in the historical settlements of the Republic. By the example of Sviyazhk historical settlement the author analyzes changes in methodological approaches to the preservation of archeological heritage objects of the island and its adjacent areas – from reconnaissances and protection-rescue works to complex scientific and architectural-archeological conservation of objects and archeological artifacts based on the results of the interdisciplinary scientific studies during the last decades.
