Abstract

Peer–reviewed work "Archaeology of the Volga-Urals. In 7 vols. Vol. 7. Late Middle Ages (middle of the XV – XVII centuries)" is a multi-author monograph prepared by a group of academic and university scientists. On the pages of the book, the authors present the latest archaeological research conducted in the Volga-Urals in the XXI century. The scientific relevance of modern large-scale archaeological excavations has stimulated the birth of new scientific institutions. One of them, now acting as the organizer and coordinator of the preparation of this volume, is the Institute of Archaeology named after A.Kh. Khalikov of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences, established in 2014.
